Principal Project Application Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and on-site support of ICSS engineering projects. Your proficiency in Foxboro DCS and Triconex safety systems, as well as industrial automation, will be instrumental in optimizing our clients' operations and ensuring the efficient functioning of their critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design Foxboro and Triconex systems tailored to specific industrial processes.
  • Lead a technical team in project execution, and be the single point of contact regarding all project technical topics
  • Develop DCS applications by configuring, programming, and customizing Foxboro DCS system.
  • Develop safety applications (SIS, BMS) by configuring, programming, and customizing Triconex safety PLCs.
  • Design and implement HMI (Human Machine Interface) screens and visualizations to provide real-time data and control capabilities for operators.
  • Handles overall technical responsibilities for one or more projects, including project specification, functionality, testing and commissioning.
  • Perform system testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and develop test documents.
  • Document preparation and obtain customer's approval per document specification and schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and debug the applications and systems, identifying and resolving technical issues and optimizing performance.
  • Conduct system testing, verification, and validation to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and security of the applications.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement security measures and protocols to protect the systems from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, assisting them in effectively utilizing the ICSS applications and troubleshooting system-related issues.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Triconex and Foxboro DCS systems and industrial automation.

  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree of Electrical Power, Mechatronics, Communication & Electronic engineering.
    • Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience with specific knowledge of Triconex and Foxboro hardware and control core software.
    • Proven experience in designing and developing ICSS applications and systems.
    • Knowledge of industrial protocols and communication standards (OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
    • Team player with good leadership and communication skills and able to travel when required.
    • Are very detail-oriented, and capable of leading service teams during projects, upgrade or troubleshooting situations.
    • Strong scripting skills in languages such as VB or Python.
    • Experience with HMI design and visualization tools.
    • Professional user of Microsoft Office
    • Understanding of industrial automation concepts and technologies.
    • Excellent command of English
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
